The New Rochelle Downtown Farmer’s Market Adds New Vendors Beginning June 15

New Rochelle, NY (PRWEB) June 13, 2013

The New Rochelle Downtown Grand Market opened Saturday, June 1 to hundreds of visitors and to more than two dozen vendors. The festive neighborhood food market features local farm-fresh fruit and produce, fish, meats, cheeses, baked goods and many other specialty foods. The market showcases artisanal products including guest vendors from Brooklyn, the ground zero of the artisanal food movement, and a weekly featured downtown restaurant as part of the BIDs Dine Downtown al fresco market dining court. The Grand Market is sponsored by the New Rochelle Downtown Business Improvement District (NRBID), Monroe College and Green Mountain Energy and will be held every Saturday through October 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 1 Library Green next to the New Rochelle Public Library on Huguenot Street between Memorial Highway and Lawton Street.

The success of the markets grand opening has attracted several new vendors who will be available at the June 15th market including:

Gaias Breath Farms Organic meats and produce

Mimomex Farms Specializing in Mexican produce such as pipiche, alache and two kinds of papalo and chiles

Ronnie Brook Farms – Yogurt, fresh milk, creme fraiche as well as pints of ice cream

Crepes! Fresh crepes made from market fruit, meats and cheeses

In addition, the June 15th market will feature the new downtown restaurant Modern Pizza. There will also be music and family entertainment from 11am to 1pm.
